A rare species of amphidromus that was previously given the wrong locality data thus the wrong species name and confusion. Some authors also wrongly named the Amphidromus poecilochrous poecilochrous as this species. Was rediscovered and correct locality identified in a very small forest area in Central Sumba Islands in 2008 by Mr. John Abbas. Described in his own words as a “phantom species”. Sinistral species.
