A very rare beautiful species found in Simeulue Island, which is known as Earthquake Island with its daily earthquakes. The Island is North West of Sumatra. Not to be confused with Amphidromus sumatranus and indeed, specimens of the latter species have been offered with cheap prices as this species. Very different. This is a variable species but sumatranus is quite easily recognizable with its consistent pattern but nothing like the jacobsoni. Sinistral species.
