Description
Caught deep in forest, June 2018. Early whorl with a scar and some minor scars here and there at the body whorl, typical of the species. A truly iconic species among the recently discovered species of amphidromus; partly due to it’s very large size, superb emerald colouration combined with flecks of yellow and red sulture and beautiful cleave lip much like the iconic A. bulowi. The green colour is actually a thick periostracum, much like the A. schomburgki after removing the perio it exhibit a plain colouration; purple for the schomburgki and yellow for this species. Pink based and pink-lip specimens are known to exist but are rare. If I were to name it, I would call this species the “Emerald amphidromus”. Truly a glittering “Emerald” in any amphidromus collection!
