Decatopecten plica ( Plicate Scallop )

Small to medium size, convex. Equivalve. Shell has 6-8 large folds rather than ribs, central ones the largest. Entire valve covered with fine radial striate. Ears small and subequal.

Colours varies from generally white or red with violet ,brown or lighter blotches or streaks.
