Lambis scorpius scorpius (Scorpion conch)

A beautiful species, easily recognizable among the lambis with its beautiful aperture and knobby digits. Interbreeds (rarely) with lambis crocata to produce a spectacular hybrid (we have sold one specimen before). 2 subspecies, one from the Pacific and the other from the Indian Ocean which is more robust and lacking the lobe on the left side of the first digitation or reduced or bent back around the apex of the shell.
